Description of Senco SFN40K 15-Gauge Finish Nailer with CaseSenco has an unparalleled reputation when it comes to finish nailers, and this model is just another reason why. It's lightweight and so comfortable, but it packs awesome power, firing 1-1/4- to 2-1/2-inch nails through whatever you put in front of it. The pros like this product because of its angled magazine, which eliminates the need for bodily contortions in tight spots. The nailer's great balance and rubber grip make its 4.7 pounds feel much lighter. And if you've ever ruined a workpiece because your nailer spat oil on it, you'll love this: the SFN40K has a Neverlube design--it requires no oil--so you'll never have to lube it and it won't stain your work. It also has a great line of sight, a dual-action trigger, an adjustable depth-of-drive control for exact countersinking (and no troublesome overshooting), and a nonmarring nose pad. Yes, it is more expensive than some other brands, but you're definitely getting what you pay for here. --Kris Jensen-Van Heste
Tools and Hardware Reviews of Senco SFN40K 15-Gauge Finish Nailer with CaseCustomer Review: Excellent Finish Nailer-Worth The $$$ Summary: 5 Stars
I visited my local air tools\fastener specialty shop. The owner, who offers Senco, PC, Accuset, Hitachi & Duo Fast let me audition all the above in the 15Gauge angled nailers. Spent about a half hour driving 2.5" nails in solid Oak board. Man, what an eye opener!! The bottom line was I purchased the SENCO SFN40! I found it possessed all of the best qualities of each of the others but performed at a higher level than most. Powerful but quiet, light weight with great balance, smooth consistent depths, easy wide range of depth adjustment and very low recoil. On top all that, it is an oil-less design! For those interested, I did more testing at home. It drove and counter sunk 2.5" fasteners into 2x8 Filipino Mahogany and 3 stacked 1 by Red Oak with out looking back. Due to the perceived quietness of the SFN40, I decided to measure decibel levels. At 1 meter from the exhaust I measured from 66db to 69db(15 fires). In comparison, my 18 gauge Brad Nailer spit out 82db to 86db(also 15 fires). The SFN40 is one quiet nailer! . I've read and heard that this was one of the best and my initial projects have confirmed that. I was orginally attracted to the Bostitch N62 but didn't care for their fastners and they were hard to find. Everybody carries the "Senco" style of fasteners! Anyway, my SFN40 is new but feel that it will give me great, long term service. Well worth a 30% higher price tag from the cheapest of the bunch(PC). Kudos to Senco for this fine product!
